Hi… my name is Kali.

Adopted February 27, 2015

When my family brought me home to live with their teenage kids, three cats, and three other dogs, they found that the dogs tended to overwhelm me (although I enjoyed the kids and the cats), so decided I’d be best as an only canine. At heart, I’m a playful gal and love playing ball and with my Kong, and while initially I’ve been a bit anxious here, every day I’m getting more comfortable with the routine. The volunteers say that when you interact with me one-on-one, I just light up and focus on how best to please you. I’m a black Lab/Staffie mix, only about 11 months old, so there’s still a lot of puppy there just ripe for molding into what everyone wants in a housemate: pure perfection!

Hi… my name is Dreidl.

Adopted August 15, 2015

Dreidl comes with TALGV’s FREE Vet Care for Life.

If you’re looking for a “true” rescue story, then lend an ear to the tale I have to tell about my two friends Candy, Claus, and me because we’re shining examples of what a difference a little (well, a LOT!) of attention, care, and good food can make! We were rescued on Sahuarita Road when a Good Samaritan stopped, opened his car door and we all gratefully piled in. We each had serious cases of mange, were undernourished, frightened, and were in urgent need of care. Well, that was before Christmas, and after many weeks of that loving care, we’re all turning into gentle, laid back dogs who want nothing more in life than safe loving homes where we can strut our new stuff! Oh, and we come with TALGV’s Free Vet Care for Life, too!

Arrived December 20, 2014.

Hi… my name is Boots,

Adopted December 14, 2015

Boots comes with FREE Vet Care for Life.

Just because there’s a little grey on my face, doesn’t mean there isn’t still a lot of spring in my step! After my dad died, I was at sixes and sevens ‘cause we were together all our lives, but now that I’m here, I’m showing everyone how much I adore affection. They say I’m especially enamored of belly rubs and behind the ear massages, and I love demonstrating my mastery of “sit” and “down” commands. I walk nicely on leash, but since I’m not overly fond of other dogs, I do tend to pull a bit when encountering them (they think I’m just being protective of my “person”). I’m a senior Lab mix lady (so I come with Free Vet Care for Life), who is definitely ready to be back in a home setting!

Arrived February 2, 2015.

BRIGHT EYES is a beautiful, energetic, and sweet 3-month-old female boxer mix that was found in the desert with her mom and 4 siblings. She spends her time outside now because of finder’s unwelcoming dog, but she learns fast, is very social and loves people. Her shots have been started, and she will have a certificate for spay and can have remaining shots courtesy of TALGV. Bright Eyes would love to share your company and the warmth of your home on these cold winter days and nights. There is no adoption fee for this sweet baby.

If you would welcome Bright Eyes into a loving home as part of your family, please call Donna between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-484-3844.

Hi… my name is Kush.

Adopted March 15, 2015

When you can’t say “no” to rescue animals, sometimes you end up with one too many, and that’s what happened with my mom. She had three other dogs, and since she worked long hours we all spent a lot of time in the yard making our own entertainment (which sometimes involved a good bit of hail-fellow-well-met hullabaloo!). Mom said that I loved attention, being cuddled, am “quite the athlete,” and although at times a bit nervous with strangers, warm up quickly if you approach on my own terms. I know a few commands (“stay” and “be good”) and will be learning lots more here you can bet! I’m a small yellow Lab mix boy, about two years old, and I know that both our lives would be better lived together!

Arrived January 30, 2015.

Hi… my name is Kiddo.

Adopted March 28, 2015

I think people sometimes forget how active young puppies can be! My mom adopted me when I was a cuddly 8-week-old and has been taking really great care of me since. I got along great with her Chihuahua (although I was considerably bigger and a lot more exuberant than he was), but mom said that I had no problem behavior, just “too much energy” for someone her age. I’ve learned quite a few commands (sit, down, stay, and walk) and am a loving, smart girl. I’m learning to catch a Frisbee (I’ll fetch anything actually!), and am a “wonderful, willing dog who will learn everything for a treat.” I’m a young German shepherd/Staffie mix girl looking for an active family that will give me all the exercise and love it can dish out!

Arrived January 28, 2015.
