Hi… my name is Henry,

Adopted 8-17-17

When I was rescued from a highway—a little guy, out there all alone—I went from terrifying experience to this safe, comfy place. Quite dehydrated when I arrived, the first important thing was water. Then came my little room, with a soft bed (where I stayed at first because I was very shy), and lots of comforting words. (Confidentially, the word “bath” also came up; I’m happy to report it turned out to be a soothing thing.) And now I’m learning about the good life—people hold me, take me for walks, we play in the big room, and they compliment my sweet brown eyes, extraordinary ears, and quiet charm. A 1-year-old Chihuahua male, 14 pounds, all I want now is a caring someone who’ll let me love them forever. Is that you?

Hi… my name is Sienna,

Adopted 6-25-17

I’m such a sweet, pretty, lovable dog, you might ask why anyone would give me up. Well, my former people can answer in one word: cats. They said I don’t like cats. Really I just don’t understand them, but it amounts to the same thing. The good news? I’m great with other dogs and people, including children. And there’s more! My people said I was housebroken, leash-trained, and an “awesome quick learner.” I already know some commands, and I’m always ready for fun. Still lively at 2-1/2 years old, I’m a gorgeous tan and white female, about 49 pounds, and if you look closely, you might notice an upside down heart on my neck. Can you see it? That’s my message about the love I have to give and I’m hoping it goes to you.

Hi… my name is Caroline,

Adopted 6-27-17

My finder (the woman who very kindly rescued me when I was a stray on the street) said I was good with her kids and her cats! I’m living peacefully with another dog here at TALGV, so you could say I’m an all-around sociable kind of dog who likes all kinds of friends. A nice size at 33 pounds, I’m 18 months old, alert, playful, and good on a leash. Plus, being affectionate comes naturally to me. Oh, I don’t overdo it—I just like to be by your side and know that we can feel free to cuddle if the mood strikes. (I’m pretty much always available for back rubs, ear scratches and the like.) I’ll do my best to make you smile every day if you let me be your dog forever.

Hi… my name is Sherlock,

Adopted with Bubbles 6-29-17

Our family moved far, far away—overseas—so both Bubbles, my Terrier buddy, and I need a new home. We’re different sizes—I’m 92 pounds, she’s 23—but have gotten along with each other and were both gentle and tolerant with kids ages 4 and 6. I’m a 4-year-old Boxer male, calm and patient; I loved those kids and their parents, too. Plus, I’m okay with cats! My family described me as “an amazing dog, the sweetest Boxer you’ll ever meet.” As for specific good qualities, I’m leash-trained, crate-trained, and housebroken; a well-behaved companion at home, on walks and car rides. My former people said anyone would be lucky to have me. I say I’ll be lucky to find a wonderful someone who’ll love me forever. And now I’m wondering, could it be you?

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted 7-7-17

As a dog who truly loves people, I was sorry to say good-bye to my person, but he has a serious health issue and can’t take care of us anymore. “Us” is Mr. White and me. He’s my big buddy—the 91-pound Shepherd I’ve been living with, and I’m a tan and white 19-pound Chihuahua mix female, 5-years-10-months old, with the cutest little ears ever. Obviously, I’ve gotten along with other dogs and I’m especially sweet with people. I think easy-going walks are fun and enjoy the chance to occasionally stop and smell the roses. Oh, I like to play, too, but being your lap dog—cuddling with you on a regular basis—would be my idea of the good life. Will you please give me the chance to be your loving companion forever?

Hi… my name is Sundae,

Adopted 6-12-17

My siblings and I were born and found living under a trailer. Our little spot was in the shade, but not a place where we could grow up, and the person nearby already had several dogs. So we came here; happy, fun-loving puppies ready for life’s next big adventure! We’re already very good at puppy things—eating, playing, rolling on top of each other—and with time, patience and attention from loving people, we can also become good at the things that will someday make us delightful, well-trained grown-up dogs. (In the meantime, we expect to have lots of puppy-people fun, too!) I’m a black and tan female, 8.8 pounds at 7 weeks and growing, probably a Shepherd/Terrier mix. You may like all puppies, but please say I’m the one you want for keeps!

Jax

Hi… my name is Jax,

Adopted 7-29-17

Recently I spent a week with people who loved me but couldn’t keep me. The family included a teenager, a St. Bernard, and two cats. I got along with all of them—dog, cats, and people—so I could fit into any one of many different households. Those friends also said I know lots of commands, come when called, am housebroken and leash trained. Now, those are my official qualifications and they’re important, but I’m hoping you see lots more in me—the loving, playful guy who could quickly become your loyal, lifelong companion. I’m a sweet 8-month-old Shepherd/Boxer mix male, tan and white (including “white socks” paws), and I’d love to meet you up close and personal. If you’re the one who could love me forever—believe me, the feeling will be mutual!

Hi… my name is Gypsy,

Adopted 9-2-17

I was adopted as a sweet little puppy and today I’m a sweet 2-1/2-year old, but my people can’t keep me anymore. Their new Florida landlord says I can’t live with them there. So I’m going to give my heart to someone new and hope this time it’s forever! I’m a playful, loving, tan and white Staffie mix female, 27 pounds. I’ve not lived with children, but my former people said I was gentle and tolerant. I can jump high and do not get along with cats, but I love playing with my toys and sleeping with my blankie. I’m crate-trained, “ask” to go outside, behave well in the house, and do many other things just to please you. Give me the chance and I’ll be the best dog I can be for you.

Hi… my name is Ellie,

Adopted 7-1-17

A lady arrived to clean what she thought was a vacant house, but guess who was there? Two little dogs—Bernie and me! After that, we lived in a home with eight children and I was well behaved with those kids, but the landlord said it was too crowded. (Also, there was some trouble with dogs getting along, although we can’t say who instigated it.) In any event, this winding road brought me here and I’m pretty excited because friends say the next step is a forever home—a place full of love and happiness! Sounds perfect to me! I’m a tan 1-year-old female, 25 pounds, probably a Hound mix and definitely adorable. My legs are short, my body is long, and my biggest dream is a loving home with someone wonderful like you.

Hi… my name is Bernie,

Adopted 1-12-18

Give me a little time to get to know you and we could both be making a new friend. I’m a guy who was left abandoned in an empty rental home, and that rough beginning took its toll on my self-confidence. As a result, I may be “a lot of bark” when we first meet, but that’s all bluff and bluster. In a home environment, I can become my true self—relaxed, quiet, more than willing to share your couch. Shelter friends say I appear to be housebroken and definitely enjoy car rides. As for other dogs, I prefer females—they just bring out the best in me. I’m a slender, young adult Hound mix male, small to medium size, and if you give me a chance, I’ll be your happy, loyal companion forever!
