Hi… my name is MoJo.

My first family had to move in with relatives who had cats, and neither the cats nor I were happy with the situation so they sadly relinquished me to TALGV. They said that I simply adored the kids (who liked to dress me up for special occasions!), and got on famously with other dogs. I went to live with a senor couple for a few months, but they just weren’t active enough for me, so my main goal in life is to get LOTS of attention and live with a dynamic family that has kids and another dog.  I’m a “talkative,” high-energy Border terrier boy, love to chase bouncy toys and lights, and am very loving and loyal so please, please, please give me one more chance!

Hi… my name is Sunny.

I was adopted July 15, 2014.

Several months ago I was the victim of a “hit and run” driver, but fortunately, someone DID stop and bring me here. After extensive surgery, I had to relearn how to stand, run (first!) and then walk. But that was then, and this is now, and as far as I’m concerned, I have “regular” legs just like anyone else! Okay, I might be a bit gimpy at times, but even if you think of that as a “flaw” (I don’t!), I more than make up for it in spunk and courage. I’m a Chihuahua boy whose main goal is life is to spend as much time as possible in your lap — in addition to maybe getting a few “therapeutic” massages now and then. If that sounds like a plan, I’m your man!

Hi… my name is Sugar.

Adopted October 25, 2014.

Here’s my one wish in the world: when I “grow up” I want to be a lap dog! I’m only a pup but have led a pretty hard life, so I have a lot of catching up to do! I came to TALGV with a terribly infected eye (as you can see, it’s gone now, thank goodness) and two days later presented them with my (last!) brood of babies. I’m a whip-smart, medium-to-high energy, heeler/Lab mix girl (who prefers “the ladies” to the male of the species — something from my past, they think). I have nice leash manners and will bond very quickly with my new person, so if I can find someone who can spend lots of one-on-one of time with me, my life will be complete!

Hi… my name is Lucie Lu.

I was adopted July 20, 2014.
Thank goodness for Good Samaritans! I was just about to be taken to “the pound” by my owner (because he was unable to walk me any longer!), when a TALGV volunteer overheard the conversation and convinced him to relinquish me to him. That was MY lucky day, I can tell you! I’m a healthy, happy, smart, and affectionate  yellow Lab mix lady (with endearing Shar Pei-like ears!), and everyone agrees that I’ll be a wonderfully loving companion who will adapt beautifully to an active family. I don’t bark (at least no one has heard me yet!), am good with kids, and other dogs, so what’s stopping you? I know that if you come down to meet me you’ll be able to see all my sterling attributes for yourself!

Hi… my name is Thumper.

I was adopted July 27, 2014.

When your dad works for the Border Patrol, I guess you have to be prepared to move around a bit. Well, I was ready to go, but unfortunately, the place where dad was transferred didn’t allow pets, so he very sadly had to give me up. He said, “Thumper is a great dog, well behaved, smart, and loving, and I would have taken him with me in a heartbeat if I’d been able.” I know LOTS of commands — sit, stay, shake, speak, kennel (or “house”) — am perfectly house and leash trained (and have good “recall” even off leash), so you know I come with lots of super “bona fides.” I’m a young Rottie/shepherd mix boy who just wants another person (or an active family) to shower my affection on.

Hi… my name is Katie.

I was adopted July 7, 2014.

I guess all pet owners hope that they’ll outlive their companions, but that doesn’t always happen. My dad was a loyal supporter of TALGV for many years, so I’m sure he’d be happy knowing that I’m in good hands now.  I lived with him all of my life, so you know how close we were and how much I’ll miss him. His neighbors said, “Katie is a great dog and would be a wonderful companion to just about anyone but kids.” (I guess they felt that at my age, kids would be a bit too much for me to “take on” at this stage in life!) I’m a lovely tri-colored shepherd mix, and my dream is to find another quiet home where I can spend my golden years making one more human happy.
Katie qualifies for TALGV’s “Vet Care for Life” program.

Hi… my name is Shelby.

I was adopted July 12, 2014.

My “winter visitor” family adopted me from TALGV four years ago when my first owners relinquished me because of their health problems. I’ve made the annual trek back and forth to New Hampshire with them (and my best friend, Madi) ever since, but they now feel that the trip is too much for them with two fairly big dogs. I’m a delightful shepherd mix lady who just wants to be part of the action with you. So…if you’re looking for a leash- and house-trained “cuddler” (according to my mom) who loves to chase balls, play with other dogs in the dog park, knows lots of commands, and will be the love of your life, then that would be me! Come find out for yourself!
