HENRY is a handsome and smart 2-year-old, 60-pound, heeler mix male who needs a good home. Henry is affectionate and loves to be around people. He is in good health; is up to date on shots; and has been neutered. Henry is housebroken, but currently lives in a kennel because he is too energetic for one of foster’s old dogs. Henry is leash trained, but he really needs room to run and play fetch in addition to regular walks. He knows sit, come, and down. He likes other dogs; cats and kids are unknown. There is no adoption fee for Henry.

My foster mom took me in when my family divorced because she’d known me for two years and said I was a “great dog.” During my stay with her, I lived in a large outside “pen” but I still had a fair bit of interaction with everyone. At a local “outing” at the Pecan Festival, I was a big hit with everyone — people, kids, and other dogs — and I had more fun than I’ve had in ages, so I sure would love to do that more often with YOU! I’ve learned basic commands, am very smart, loving, playful, and simply adore going for car rides. If you’re a “Boxer person” you’ll know what my potential for being the perfect companion is, so come meet me and see my attributes for yourself!

And why wouldn’t you? I’m a gorgeous, young, medium-haired, blue-eyed, Siamese mix girl, and have the softest, rabbit-like fur you’ve ever felt (and I’m as affectionate and quiet as can be to boot!). There are some dogs that love “canine socializing” just fine, and others that prefer the company of humans to the four-legged kind, and I’d be the latter! I lived with my older mom and dad for two years, but when he had a stroke, mom just wasn’t up to caring for him in addition to giving me the attention and exercise I needed. I got along famously with the grandkids, and loved to play ball and “tug the sock,” so I just know there’s an active family out there for me that enjoys going for long walks (or hikes in the desert — woo woo!), and having a buddy keeping them company ‘round the clock. I’m a striking black and tan shepherd/heeler mix lady who is just ripe for sharing your world!

Come on now! I know there are people out there who appreciate how positively awesome we cattle dogs are! And I’m no exception! I was found at a Shell station (hence my name!) and although I had a few ticks and minor scrapes, otherwise I’m healthy as can be. It’s obvious I belonged to someone, as I know lots of commands, am crate trained, ride great in a car, am friendly with kids and other dogs, and love to cuddle (especially in bed with you at night!). And then there’s the typical ball, Kong, stick, just-about-anything-I-can-fetch heeler side of me that craves exercise and action! They’re guessing I’m just a youngster, so just think of all the fun you’ll have ahead of you with me showing the way!
