Animal League News

Hi… my name is Nathan,

Adopted February 6, 2016

Is it really darkest before the dawn? You could say it was for me. I was in real danger—hurt, left alone on a scary road—when I was rescued and brought to TALGV. All of a sudden, I was important. They gave me food, water, and gentle care, took me to a doctor, and then my very special foster people took me to their place. They’re teaching me good-to-know dog things; we go on long walks and cuddle every day. They say I’m a real sweetie, which is easy when you like people as much as I do. So that’s me up till now—a tan Hound mix male, 33 pounds—who’d love to meet you real soon. I think the best is yet to be, the day we get together forever!

Arrived December 12, 2015.

Boo

Hi… my name is Boo,

Adopted December 31, 2015

When my sister and I arrived at TALGV because we had to leave our owner, we were both pretty bashful.   She found her forever home quickly, I’m glad to say, and now I’m alone, still bashful but becoming more comfortable with my TALGV friends every day. I’m 9 months old, medium size, tan and white, with unforgettable blue eyes. People say eyes are the windows to the soul, so please look in mine and see that I’m gentle, easy going, with lots of love to give to the person who’ll lets me be their devoted, loyal companion. Oh yes, playful, too; I especially love playing in water. Plus, as an intelligent Aussie, I know “sit” and can learn lots more, and you can change me from bashful to happy just by making me yours.

Hi… my name is Dora,

Adopted June 27, 2015

When my family adopted my sister, Princess, and I right after we were weaned, they had every good intention of making sure that we got the puppy training we needed. Well, they had three young kids (whom we totally adored) and they needed so much attention that that plan quickly fell by the wayside! When one of the kids got sick, they had even less time for us, so here I am now, a 9-month-old Husky/Lab/ Hound mix, and eager to learn all “good dog etiquette” things I missed out on. I’m always on the lookout for human interaction, get along great with my sister, but I absolutely don’t “do” cats at all, so a home where I can get lots of attention from humans will make my life complete!

Hi… my name is Sarge,

Adopted February 26, 2016

I’m so hoping someone out there will give me a second chance. I’m a 3½ year-old classic purebred Blue Heeler, and people tell me my beautiful coat makes me an especially handsome fellow. My favorite time to hear that is when the person saying it is nearby so I can bask in their company and enjoy a really good one-on-one petting. When it comes right down to it, I just adore being someone’s companion because that’s really my job in life. Like lots of Heelers, I’m smart, energetic and would love a “job” to do to keep me on the straight and narrow. If you believe in second chances, I hope you’ll give one to me. If you do, I promise to do my very best to make you glad that you’re my person.

Hi… my name is Angel,

Adopted June 14, 2016

There’s no nice way to say this: My siblings and I were dumped—left out in the cold and filth with only each other for comfort, lucky to get food from a stranger. Thankfully, TALGV rescued us, and the vet said we’re remarkably healthy. My right eye had to be removed, but that’s healed now, and though still shy, I’ve made new friends. I’m an adorable 3-year-old Chihuahua mix female, chocolate and white, just 9 pounds. In our foster home, I live with Jingle, a sweet 4-1/2-year-old Chihuahua male, who’s very dear to me and so we need to be adopted together. Imagine how grateful Jingle and I will be for a comfy home with someone who’ll love us forever. Take us home today and we’ll be the best little companions you could want!
