Hi… my name is Aires,
Adopted April 17, 2016
I was found by volunteers at the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge. There were no other people around, so apparently I’d been abandoned. Why that happened to a sweet, lovable guy like me is a mystery, but I’m glad to say that’s my past story! Today, I’m a happy, playful fellow; a 1-year-old Lab mix, about 48 pounds, with a honey-color coat and soft brown eyes. I find fun in every day; I like to play with my toys, and sometimes, when people stop by, I make happy sounds to show how glad I am to see them. (My human friends say that’s just one cute part of my charming personality.) Come for a visit and we’ll have fun meeting each other. Take me home and you’ll have a loving, devoted companion for life!

I was adopted as a puppy* and spent five years with my family, but when a recent job transfer required a big move, they had to leave me behind. We were all sad to say good-bye, and it’s extra tough for me because sometimes I’m scared of new people. Given a chance, though, I warm up and respond to kindness with kindness. In my previous home, I had fun playing with cats and other dogs, and have always been happy to go on walks. I’m a black and tan Lab/Heeler mix male, who’s used to family life and loves one-on-one time, too; a great fit in almost any household. Please don’t pass me by just because I’m shy. Just think what a grateful, loyal and happy friend I’ll be if you choose me!

You can imagine how big, loud, and scary the world seems when you’re tiny like me and lost in traffic! I didn’t know where to turn for help, but, luckily, a good gentleman saw me and brought me to TALGV. Even here, I was afraid, and huddled in my blanket for days. The volunteers waited patiently, making sure I was okay while giving me time to feel safe. After a week, with their encouragement, I enjoyed an afternoon exploring The Den, TALGV’s room for little dogs like me. Now, I’ve played with other dogs and even started welcoming petting from the volunteers, which feels oh so wonderful! I’m a very special Chihuahua mix female, and if you’re special, too—someone with gentle, abiding love to give—I’d be ever so grateful to be yours.

My friend, Ottis, and I lived in the same home for years, but when our human mom realized she couldn’t take care of us anymore due to her own health concerns, she showed us her love once more by letting us go to find new homes. I’m a female Dachshund—my current name might make you think otherwise, but I am a girl—7-1/2 years old, and a standout in the looks department thanks to my beautiful silver dapple coat. I am shy, but reported to be good with cats, dogs, and children in the past. So, once I warm up and feel comfortable, you’ll see how loving I can be. And for fun, we could play with my favorite squeaky toys! Please come visit me today and see how great we’ll be together.

The trouble at my former home didn’t involve me, but it is what left me without a home. That’s okay, though; like most dogs, I’m very good at starting over. Oh sure, I’m a little shy at the moment. When you pet me, I may bow my head, and yelling may startle me for a moment, but my big Lab heart will open wide to your kindness. I’m a young guy, so if I start living the good life now, I could have years and years of gloriously happy days. Already, I’m friendly and loveable. But don’t just take my word for it—let me show you! I’ll welcome you into my world, and if you do the same for me, I’ll be your grateful and devoted friend forever.

I come with FREE Vet Care for Life!
Who’d have thought I’d be on the streets at this age? But there I was—dodging cars on the road less than a mile from TALGV. Thank goodness for my finder! At 6 years old and just 15 pounds, if I’m going to start a new adventure, I want safer surroundings and at least one partner with me. And what a great partner I’ll be—a little Chihuahua who expects only the basics: food, shelter, and, oh yeah, lots of love. And what comes from my heart? Well, you can imagine how grateful I’ll be to go from dodging traffic to being in your loving home. Take me home today and you’ll be the best thing that could ever happen to me!

Sasha Ann comes with TALGV’s FREE Vet Care for Life Program
It’s wonderful the way people are extra sweet to me because I’m 13 years old. But, between you and me, there are lots of great things about being an older dog. Like my appreciation of simple pleasures—easy walks (I’m very good on a leash), long naps, and gentle touches from my person are more than enough to make me happy. I’ve long since learned the importance of good house manners, and here’s another really important thing: I come with free vet care for life! I’m a Lab mix female who’s interested in new people and other dogs, including my best dog friend, Austin. And I still dream that someone will give me the most generous gifts of all: love and a place called home. Could that someone be you?
