Read MoreHi… my name is Elliott.
My first family found me when I was about 9 months old, and although they really wanted to keep me, they already had another dog in addition to two teenagers and just couldn’t afford another mouth to feed (even if mine is small!). I went to live with a really nice couple a few months ago, and they said I was very sweet boy who loves to sit in your lap, sleep with you, and play with my ball and stuffed toys. Unfortunately, they both started new jobs recently, and they weren’t home enough to give me the attention (and “continuing education”) I needed, so once more I’m dreaming of my perfect place in life. No one is quite sure of my origins, but it appears that I’m either a young Manchester terrier or Mini-pin mix, so if you have time for me, I sure do have time for you!

Hi… my name is Sage.
When you have shepherd, Lab, and a touch of “something else” in your genes, you know that you’ve got the possibility of great things going on! An older gentleman adopted me after I’d been at TALGV for a while, and my life was wonderful until he died unexpectedly. A friend took care of me for two months and would have kept me forever, but he already had four rescue dogs and didn’t have the resources to keep a big, active 3-year-old as well. He said I’m crate trained, walk well on a leash (and even off leash in safe places), and stay close to my people. He said, “Sage will be a great pet for an individual or family. She likes exercise and can be trusted to stop and obey commands off leash. She accepts authority from those who are handling her.” With those bona fides, I know you’ll fall in love with me in no time!

Hi… my name is Sparky.
Adopted 10-6-18
Nature gave me the gift of energy! Even as I’ve grown up and now have some years under my belt, I’m still an extraordinarily lively, exuberant guy. I did have a happy home once—a mom, dad, two small kids, but when their living situation changed, no one had time for me anymore. They felt I deserved more attention than they could provide—especially from someone who could give me training and guidance. Okay, I’ve had some extra training now. And the good things my people said about me are true to this day: I’m a loving, playful guy who’s good on a leash, and loves walks and runs. (I also have a HUGE bark for my size; think “great watchdog.”) So if you’re active and energetic, too, we could be so great together!

Hi… my name is Galaxy.
My mom, Luna, my siblings, and I were found under the floorboards of a trailer in Sahuarita. No one knew how long we’d been there, but mom did her best to take care of us (without much help from humans I must say!), so we were a little skittish when we first arrived. Well that’s a thing of the past, and since I’ve gotten “three squares” and lots of attention, I’ve turned into an outgoing boy with a peaceful spirit and a lot of love to give. I’m a charming, young shorthaired, brown tabby boy (yes, I’ve spent a good bit of time here and I’m really ready for my “forever home”), so I’m hoping for a special someone who’ll help me forget what it was like to be on my own and show me what a “real” life is like. Are you just around the corner?

Sometimes when people and animals have survived debilitating physical problems they are more kind, tolerant, and appreciative of their new lives. Well, that’s my story, so I’ll share it with you in hopes that you’ll be that one extraordinary person who will help me through the rest of my life. When I arrived at TALGV, I had a terrible skin infection with most of my fur gone, an infected cyst on my side that they found contained cactus stickers when it was removed, and was badly malnourished (happily I was FELV/FIV negative though!). It turns out that I have severe allergies that will require medication, a warm water bath twice a week, and grain-free food for life, but if you can manage that (it’s not hard and I’m used to it!), you will have one of the most gentle, loving cats that ever walked the planet! Won’t YOU be the Samaritan that makes my dreams come true?

Hi… my name is Socks.
In December 2012 I was dropped in the yard of winter visitors who had just arrived, and they’ve been feeding me ever since. Well, when they were heading back home for the summer, they didn’t want to see me abandoned again, they brought me to TALGV. While I lived with them they said that I loved to rub against legs, play with their two cats (they said we were “best pals”!), and that I adored to be petted and brushed. Unfortunately, I’ve been found to be FIV positive, which means that I need to be the only cat in your life (although I could live quite nicely with another FIV positive cat, and there just happens to be one here named Suttles!). I’m a handsome brown and white tabby gentleman, and all I need is that special someone who will show me the love that I crave. I’m hopeful that’s you!

Hi… my name is Pepper.
Adopted August 28, 2015
Pepper comes with Free Vet Care for Life.
After many years, my owner moved and was unable to take me, or my sister, Sierra, with her. We’re beautiful shepherd mix females who were assigned to guard our home, but when our “job” wasn’t needed, we lived outside in a small yard. We are both very outgoing and responsive, come when called, obey the “go to bed” command, and even though we’ve been outside dogs, we’ve proven ourselves here in respecting our “home area” by using our doggie door, so I know we’d be happy finally being indoor/outdoor dogs! We don’t “do” other dogs or cats well, but we’re super people and kid friendly. We’ve been together all our lives, so if you have space and a big heart, you’ll be rewarded with two awesome companions and protectors (who come with Free Vet Care for Life!).

Keeping a low profile isn’t something I necessarily want to do it’s just that with so many other tabbies here I tend to get lost in the shuffle. And that’s really a shame, because I’m a wonderfully sweet, gentle, laid back guy who would positively shine in my very own home. I’ve been at TALGV since June 2012, and even though I sometimes get discouraged, my heart still believes there is a special person out there just for me. I get along well with all my roommates here and have lived with another cat and kids in the past, so I think I’m pretty well designed for just about anyone. The grapevine has it that there are lots of homes out there needing feline friendship, so let me fill that need in just one!

Hi… my name is Ranger.
Adopted 3-20-17
I was found near Titan Storage right near TALGV, and when I first arrived, they thought I was a boy (hence my rather masculine name). Then when they discovered that I was a lady, they thought I might be pregnant, but it turned out that I wasn’t either of those things, so after being spayed, I’m ready to go on about my life without having to worry about raising any more babies (after they examined me, it was apparent that I had already had a litter or two). It appeared that I’d been on my own for a quite a while, so I was a bit undernourished, but that’s been taken care of with lots of good food and extra nutrition. I am a sweet, young, archetypical, black/brown, striped tabby girl and I am super outgoing, affectionate, and I know I’d be a beguilingly curious companion. Why don’t you take me home and find out?
