Hi… my name is Anna,

Adopted August 14, 2016

When I was found with Elsa, my sweet friend (possibly sister), all we had was each other. We were soaking wet and dehydrated. Our finder took us to their small ranch, where they kindly fed us, took care of us, and discovered my many good qualities. I’m “extremely smart and learn fast,” they said, “a very sweet dog who will love you forever,” and knows lots of commands (like “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “no”). I was “gentle and tolerant” with their children and got along with most of the other animals—horses, dogs, cattle—but didn’t do well with the family cat and, in fairness, the cat was there first. So now I’m here, a sweet, loving, playful 2-year-old American Bulldog/Staffie mix female, who’ll be happy forever if you let me be your best friend.

Hi… my name is Brutus,

Adopted 11-28-16

If you know someone who‘s just naturally friendly, then you already kind of know me because that’s my personality, too. I was found in the desert east of town; my rescuer whistled, asked if I’d like to go for a ride, and I happily joined my new friend and jumped in her car. (I was also quite grateful for a big drink of water.) Here at TALGV, my many new friends can tell you I’m a lovable, easy-going guy.   Even better, we can get together and I’ll show you myself! I’m a 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier, 67 pounds, and when we meet you might say, “This guy is such a great companion, I’m gonna take him home!” At least, that’s what you say in my dreams, and you can make those dreams come true!

PS That sissy pink stuff on my nose is sunscreen… they make us wear it here at TALGV.

Hi… my name is Belle,

Adopted June 8, 2016

To be given away can be hurtful, especially when it’s not your fault. When my former people brought me to TALGV with three other family dogs, they said lots of good things about me, including that I’m gentle and tolerant with children. They said I’m a loyal, smart dog who know lots of commands—“come here,” “sit,” “eat,” “no,” and “lay down.” At 9 years old, I still enjoy lots of physical activity (I call that play) and walks with you (I’m leash trained). If all this sounds good, won’t you please come see me? I’m a beautiful Shepherd mix female, about 41 pounds, dark brown with touches of black, tan and white, and I’m holding on to the hope that someone wonderful does want a great companion like me. Could it be you?

Hi… my name is Canelo,

Adopted July 3, 2016

I know what it is to be left behind, but that doesn’t have to be the worst thing ever. My person couldn’t have his dogs at his new place, so now I’m here, very well taken care of until my special someone finds me. My former person said I like children and I’m good with people, and at just 10 pounds, I’m easy to hold and cuddle. At my previous home, I was an outdoor dog, so you can imagine how much I’ll love the comforts of an indoor life. Add your love to that and I’ll be in little doggie heaven! I’m 3 years old, a Chihuahua/Poodle mix male, brown and white with the cutest face you could hope to see and a very friendly disposition. Won’t you please make me yours today!

Hi… my name is Missy,

Adopted May 29, 2016

I was found with my Terrier friend Sissy—two young pups running loose. I won’t say we were running free because when you don’t know where to find your next meal, clean water, or a safe place to rest, you don’t feel all that free. But we did stick together and her company made me happy. I’m super friendly by nature and not just with a dog buddy. I really like people, too; sometimes I even try to show it with a great big smile! I’m about 26 pounds, a brown and white Hound mix female, and I’d love to show you how much fun I can be. At just 7 months old, I’ll be your happy and loyal companion for a long time to come, so please let me into your heart today!

Hi… my name is Carla,

Adopted May 28, 2016

When I arrived at TALGV, someone started singing, “Hey there lonely girl…” They saw that I’d been lost, lonely, very scared, and in need of a friend. Weeks later, I was thrilled to be adopted. But then my owner began traveling extensively and I was returned to TALGV, where my friends welcomed me back. They’re ready to help me find a new home, hoping this time it’s the forever kind! I’m an active, playful female who enjoys car rides, toys, and quiet times, too—your gentle touch means so much. I’m young and slender, about 17 months and 40 pounds, white with brown markings, resembling a Canaan Dog and probably a Pointer mix. Best of all, I’ll be a devoted companion to the person I can love and trust, and I’m hoping that’s you.
