Hi… my name is Sochi,

Adopted 5-29-17

I’m a happy, fun-loving dog who was especially lucky to be rescued. Found on I-19, I was lost and injured. My broken leg needed repair by a veterinarian. Maybe that help is why I love people so much! After that, I lived with my rescuer’s grandparents, but they think I need someone stronger—an active someone, who’d have fun with a lively, friendly dog like me. I’m crate-trained (please know I can jump a 5-foot wall), know some commands, and have been good with other dogs. I’ll gladly show you my favorite toys and maybe you’ll rub my ears, tummy or back—if so, we could be made for each other! I’m a 1-year-old black and tan female, 48 pounds, who more than anything wants the chance to be the dog you’ll cherish forever.

Hi… my name is Anastasia,

Adopted 5-15-17

Not that I’m a betting girl, but everyone’s heard of love at first sight and I’ll wager that if you come visit me, that’s exactly what’ll happen to you! I’m a stray, so of course there’s the old “history/mystery” thing going on, but whatever it was, it included a lot of contact with humans and plenty of love and attention! And of course, we won’t even mention the beauty! Well, there, I just did – but you can’t ignore my luxurious Torbie coat (a golden mix of torti and tabby), or my “I-love-you-won’t-you be-mine” expression, so come see why we’re destined to make beautiful music together. At just 3 years old, there’s time for it to be a whole symphony!

Hi… my name is Sonata,

Adopted with Misty 6-5-17

Did you ever wonder how we felines manage to turn our heads upside down to help you reach just the right spot for scratches? It’s the one place on cats that you can pretty much be sure we’re going to love! Well, I’m no exception, and although I’m a bit shy at the moment, a friendly rub under the chin will get my attention in a jiffy. When my dad moved away, he couldn’t take my friend, Dolly Cat, or me with him, so now I’m in the market for another chin-chucking, ear-scratching human to love. I’m a sleek, svelte 2-year-old girl who’s only lived with an older person (and Dolly, of course), so I’ll bet a quiet home where I can get lots of attention would suit me to a “T.”

Hi… my name is Dolly Cat,

Adopted 11-15-19

On the off chance you didn’t know, cats can be changeable creatures, but we often have trouble dealing with change itself! When my dad moved, he couldn’t take me with him, and my contented life was turned all topsy-turvy. It’s been a hard row to hoe for me here with so many other felines, but the volunteers are spending extra time with me, doing their best to show me that life really could be a happy one again. I’m a sleek, svelte girl who’s only lived with an older person, so I’ll bet a patient “cat person” in a quiet, one-pet-only home where I can get lots of understanding would suit me to a “T.”

Hi… my name is Bear (aka Guy),

Adopted 8-9-17

Bear has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I was lost, so when I saw a man walking his dog, I followed. He praised me for being friendly and trusting, and brought me here. Then I was adopted and my people said many good things about me: “mellow and playful, great on a leash,” “great with kids,” and I got along with their poodle/terrier. (I’m not so good with cats.) However, they said I was scared of loud noises and some men, protective of my owner, and they wanted me to have a different home. Volunteers here welcomed me back with open arms, thanks especially to my loveable personality. To prove my excellent manners, I’ve earned the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen certificate! A 3-year-old male, black and tan, 85 pounds, I’m really hoping I’m the guy you’ll love, too!

Hi… my name is Shadow,

Adopted 5-26-17

One dark night, around 2 a.m., there was a pounding on a door. It opened, a friendly face appeared, and a new chapter of my life began. I’d been abandoned—a young black Lab, tied to a fence and left in the shadows, but the woman at the door came to my rescue. “You’re a very nice dog,” she said kindly, and soon brought me here, where I’ve made lots more new friends (despite being shy at first). They agree I’m very nice, plus energetic, strong, playful, and extraordinarily handsome. At 18 months, I’m okay on a leash, but a bit of an escape artist through open doors (we’ll see if that changes once I settle in). Together, I bet we can write the book on happy companionship, so how about we start today!

Hi… my name is Big Kitty,

Adopted with Lilly 8-12-17

Maybe someone was being cute when they named me Big Kitty (I’m 10 pounds) and my housemate, Little Kitty (she’s 14 pounds!), but I’ve learned that humans have a weird sense of humor sometimes! After my mom became ill, her friend cared for me for a while, but she had health issues too, so TALGV got to be my temporary home (and nice as it is, I hope it won’t be for too long!). I’m a shy, quiet 6½-year-old lady who has a rather unusual trait – I much prefer to use a human toilet to my litterbox, so for those of you who’d rather not have to deal with cleaning them, I’d be the ideal housemate (but you should probably have one anyway, just in case!).
