In loving memory of STARR ? ?
“Rescue the mistreated, save the injured and love the abandoned.” This saying epitomizes our Starr. She arrived at TALGV’s doorstep in December 2021 and was beaten,  battered and dragging a 3.5 pound chain around her neck. She was in rough shape and appeared to have been used as a bait dog. Somehow, through it all, she never closed her heart to humans. She was full of love, tenderness, sweetness, warmth and playfulness. She was a shelter favorite. Sadly, she never found a permanent adopter but was loved by many, many volunteers. She found great fortune several months ago when a wonderful foster brought her home. She helped heal her foster mom’s broken heart and mom gave her unconditional love and a beautiful life in her final days. She will be forever remembered and missed. ?

Hi… my name is Starr,

RAINBOW BRIDGE 1-24-25

While spending time with my foster dad, I discovered how loving family life can be. I happily respected the house rules by not chewing on or touching anything I shouldn’t and asking to go potty. When being introduced to different people, I made my “dad” proud by always being polite and friendly. Occasionally, when he left me alone for a few hours, I didn’t mind being in my crate. I follow commands, such as “sit” and “stay,” especially at mealtimes and when getting treats. Being a very affectionate gal, I discovered recliners (and beds) are great places to cuddle. I love sharing a home with my “people,” but I’d rather not share it with another pet! Do you have an empty spot in your home that needs filling?                                                                                         (2/22)

Hi… my name is Maize,

Adopted 12-14-21

I am one of five puppies who learned to love people when many of the volunteers here at TALGV came to visit us over the past weeks. Our Mom was trying to take care of us by herself outside, but we all like it much better here! Mom is a Border Collie mix and very pretty. Dad – well, I’m not really sure, and Mom’s not telling. I think he was bigger than she is because everyone says I look like I will outgrow Mom for sure. Like all puppies my age, I like to play, explore my world with eyes, ears, and mouth, and take naps. Are you ready to teach me how to be a good dog like my Mom? Then let’s meet!

Hi… my name is Pumpkin,

Adopted 12-14-21

I am one of five puppies who learned to love people when a foster mom took me home since I was so much smaller than my siblings. Our Mom was trying to take care of us by herself outside, but we all like it much better here! Mom is a Border Collie mix and very pretty. Dad – well, I’m not really sure, and Mom’s not telling. I don’t look much like her the way my brother and sisters do but like all puppies my age, I like to play, explore my world with eyes, ears, and mouth, and take naps. Are you ready to teach me how to be a good dog like my Mom? Then let’s meet!

Hi… my name is Lola,

Rainbow Bridge 11-11-22

I am an old Chihuahua lady and yes, I know, my age shows. (It happens when you are almost 16 years old!) There are the usual aches and pains in the joints, and I’m getting a bit forgetful, too. I still enjoy short walks around the neighborhood though. My favorite place is on the lap of my person. I alert my people when I have to go potty, but sometimes they don’t understand as quickly as I need them to! Are you someone who would not expect too much from me, but can take me into your heart for the time I have left? TALGV provides my vet care support for life, so no need to worry about medications and such. Let’s meet and see how we like each other!

Hi… my name is Tommy,

Adopted 2-17-22

After a short stay at TALGV I moved into foster care, and it’s   just what I need… caring people to teach me the basics of living in a home. I know the commands “wait” and “sit” and love going for long walks (as an individual or in a pack). I’m currently sharing the home with the two resident dogs. It seems I may be a bit of a toy hog, but I remain a true gentleman. I’m well behaved, enjoy the company of people, and I’ve been loving towards my foster’s granddaughter. I’m still working on my greeting skills, but I’m never aggressive or prone to jump. My foster mom says I’m a “joy” to have in their home. I could be the joy in yours!

Hi… my name is Andy,

ANDY HAS BEEN AT TALGV OR MORE THAN 2 YEARS AND COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE.

I’m extremely intelligent and great at problem-solving – sometimes a little too good. I can open doors, figure things out quickly, and have mastered “puppy dog eyes” to extract treats from you. Like many brainy types, I come with a few quirks: kids make me anxious, I’m socially awkward outside my trusted inner circle, and I strongly dislike wind and passing vehicles (unless I’m riding in one, obviously). I need to be your one-and-only pet, as I prefer having all the attention and thrive best without other animals. My ideal home is adult-only, calm, and predictable, with limited visitors, a secure backyard, water to splash in, and humans who enjoy high-energy games of fetch that would impress most athletes. I’m housetrained, crate-trained, respectful indoors, and—because I’m a longtime resident—I come with Vet Care Support for Life.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.
