Then a kind woman entered our lives, picked us up and brought us here, where I’m loving the comforts—regular food, a soft bed, friendly people, and even my spiffy new haircut. I was very shy at my first medical exam, leery about being picked up, but plucked up my courage and tolerated it well. No doubt I need some training, being on a leash is new to me, but I’m so willing to try. At just about 12-1/2 pounds, I wouldn’t take up much room in your house, but maybe a big place in your heart. My manners are so impressive, that you’d never guess I was rescued from the desert as a 6-month-old pup. Do you have another dog? Awesome! I’ve had lots of doggie pals and roommates. Hash is a friendly and sweet three-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua male who needs a new home. He is crate trained, leash trained, and house trained (asks to go out). He is neutered and in good health. Hash is good with children and other dogs but cats are unknown. He has a cute personality and sleeps in his own bed. He is bonded with his big companion, Astro, but would probably be okay as an only pet.There is no adoption fee. Captain Crunch

I am a medium-sized, Shepherd-mix boy who was rescued with four other pups on a Tucson street. The only crime committed by this cereal gang: We were unwanted. (Oh, and maybe a little jaywalking.) Fortunately, some good Samaritans spotted us and brought us to TALGV for a chance at a better life. My volunteer friends say I’m small in stature for a Shepherd mix. They also say I’m a little shy—but that’s to be expected when you’re scared—and that I’m a sweet, mild-mannered fellow who could use some training in basic commands. Are you a patient leader who can teach this Captain the ins-and-outs of being your second in command? And can you provide some ‘crunch,’ too? If so, I’ll provide the love. C’mon, let’s hear it: “Aye, aye, Captain!”

Have you ever wondered what your family canine member is dreaming about? Do you know what my dream is? Yes, you guessed it! My very own forever home. I was one of several lucky dogs to be chosen to come to TALGV from PACC. I must admit, that makes me feel very special! Even though I was shy at first, it didn’t take me long to settle in, and now I enjoy sharing my room with a great roommate. I know “sit,” and when dressed in my harness, I walk pretty well on a leash. Back to my dreams! I’m a friendly, affectionate young Staffie mix girl, who really wants hers to come true. That would involve you visiting me! Please just “pop” in! Who knows, maybe both our dreams can come true.
