Hi… my name is Xena,

Adopted 7-27-23

My friend and I were found wandering aimlessly around a neighborhood for a couple of weeks. Upon our arrival at TALGV we were welcomed and made to feel quite at home. Now it’s time for me to find my forever home! I’m a female Pug mix who’s nearly 2 years old. I walk pretty well on a leash and can use a doggy door. The first time I went to the play yard I discovered how much I enjoyed the exercise, exploring and sniffing out a variety of aromas. At times, for a change of pace, a playmate was introduced! I’ve shared my accommodations with a couple of different (canine) roommates. Are you looking for a loving, faithful companion? Did I mention I can also share my accommodations with my (human) roommate? I can!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Ricky,

Adopted 8-12-23

I’m a little guy (about 10 pounds) with one big wish:  I want to love and be loved. From my first day here, the volunteers understood that I could do with some tender loving care. My person had died recently, and when I moved to another home, the dog already there really didn’t want a sibling. Thank goodness I could come here, where good life essentials are available: Healthy food, a safe and comfy space, exercise, and medical attention as needed. Plus, lots of cuddling—that hands-on kind of love—has done me lots of good. I’m ready to love and be loved. If you understand the feeling, we should meet. And if you say the word, I’ll do my little dog best to make my big wish come true for both of us.

Zee

Hi… my name is Zee,

Adopted 7-30-23

So there I was with my friend, in a cinema parking lot, with no way to buy food or escape the heat. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan was able to get us to TALGV where, despite having our names on our collars, it was determined that we had no microchips to locate our family. Oh, well, I live in the here and now and am an easy-going guy, so here’s the deal: I’m young, friendly with other dogs, have learned that that walking on a leash is a collaborative effort with a human. I will do almost anything for a treat. Many volunteers (my new friends) have commented on what a great boy I am – and handsome, too! Do you have space in your heart and home where I can hang out?

Hi… my name is Tailz,

Adopted 3-4-25

What is my best feature: piercing blue eyes, white-as-snow coat, my petite size, oversized ears? All of the above! While I’m shy at first, if you give me time, you’ll find I’m as sweet as pie. But wait, there’s more: I’ve got great house manners, I’m potty-trained, crate trained, quiet as a mouse, and love to go for car and golf-cart rides. So, what’s the downside, you ask? Nothing – as long as you don’t have cats! I’ve become quite the social butterfly with other dogs and am happy to play with them – as long as they have good manners – and respect when it’s time for a break. I’d be best in a house without young kids, as they can overwhelm me. Might I be a good fit for you? Come visit me and find out!

Hi… my name is Star Baby,

Adopted 8-13-23

I’m a sweet, friendly, and affectionate Schnauzer mix. If there was a show “Dancing with the Dogs,” I could be a contestant! I can stand, walk, jump, twirl, and dance on my hind legs…alone or with a partner. I understand “sit,” “let’s go,” “no,” and “car.” I’m potty trained (to doggy door) and crate trained (sleeps in at night). Sometimes if I’m hesitant to go in, I can be bribed with peanut butter in a Kong. I’ll need a wall at least five feet high and some basic training to teach/correct behaviors, like jumping. I don’t know about cats, but I get along with other dogs and would probably do well in a family with a dog. After we meet and I’ve danced my way into your heart, let’s waltz straight home!

Hi… my name is Lovey,

Adopted 8-13-23

I’m an affectionate, female Schnauzer mix, a.k.a. “Lovey Dovey.”  I’m smart and understand the meanings of “sit,” “no,” “car,” “come on,” and “let’s go.” I’m potty trained (to doggy door) and crate trained (sleeps in at night). If I sometimes get hesitant about going in, I can be bribed with peanut butter in a Kong. I’ve discovered that I don’t like cats, but I’ve been good with other dogs and would probably do well with a family. I’ll need some basic training to teach/correct behaviors like jumping. On the subject of jumping, I will need a wall/fence over 5 feet high. Something I forgot to mention! I can stand and walk on my hind legs… but you’ll still need to give me a ride home because I’ve got short legs!

Hi… my name is Wrinkles,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

My story recently took an exciting turn, one I’m hoping is headed toward a happily ever after. I was living with other dogs and cats when, abruptly, our person had to leave. We were on our own. For weeks, we survived living outside only with the help of community volunteers. And then, one wonderful day, I moved here. Suddenly I was in cool comfort, with plenty of food, and enjoying the company of patient, helpful people. They let me get acquainted at my own pace, which was great because I’m a combination of shy and friendly, with my very own kind of sweetness. I’m a big guy (80+ pounds), all grown-up (8-1/2 years old) and probably a Lab/Shar-Pei mix (the “wrinkles”). Let’s meet and see if we can make a happy new story together!

Hi… my name is Freckles,

Adopted 8-5-23

With ears like mine, one MUST have a sense of humor.  I’ve heard I remind people of a long-ago TV show: The Flying Nun.  Whatever. I can’t fly, but I DO have what all puppies and dogs have: the ability to make you fall in love with me. I have lots of love to give – especially if you can provide me what puppies require: Exercise, Training, Socialization, etc. If you have other playful dogs and even cats, all the better! I may grow into my oversized ears, or maybe not. Seriously though, have you ever seen such a cute guy? Aside from the other available dogs at TALGV, I mean – LOL!  Maybe you’ll find room in your home and heart for me and my ears? Call and set up an appointment to meet me soon!

Hi… my name is Princess,

Adopted 8-5-23

In my own calm and sweet way, I’m probably one of the friendliest dogs you’ll meet. And it’s no secret why: I simply love giving and receiving attention.  Maybe that comes from having lived with several large and small dogs, plus cats, all at once! Today, when a kind person gives me some special one-on-one time, you’ll see my happy tail wagging. Going for walks is fun, too. I’m good on leash and even as an 8-year-old, there’s a lot of pep in my step. Of course, life hasn’t always been fun and games.  When our person had to leave, we needed major help. Thankfully, that came with the wonderful neighbor who brought me here, where I now have the chance to meet you! Who knows? We might become each other’s best friend forever.
